The center panels are constructed from 1″ material, which provides a greater depth and adds the relief that sets these shutters apart. The stiles and rails are connected using glued mortise and tenon joinery with pegs, or our specially engineered connector bolts.

Panel wooden window shutters are available in a number of design variations with several sticking styles. The shutter shown here has a .375″ bead that is an impressive enrichment to the deep profile of the raised panels. The sticking on these shutters is an integral part of the shutter stiles, not an added piece used to emulate true sticking. There can be little doubt that this method is more complex to machine; however, it does not bear the risk of separation as does tacked on sticking.
