Our Harmony collection features shutters for windows that are made with Western Red Cedar framing, and EXTIRA® Board panels. Two materials that blend beautifully.
LEARN MORE ABOUT WESTERN RED CEDAR
The Western Red Cedar is an evergreen coniferous tree that grows to heights of 65-70 meters with a base of 3-4 meters.
Some of these trees can live over a thousand years. The size of this tree and the age to which it can live are testimony of its natural durability, which comes from the presence of thujaplicins (a naturally occurring fungicidal compound), and thujic acid that make it more resistant to insect attack.
Western Red Cedar is also known for its light weight, soft brown color and straight grain. Such characteristics make this wood a pleasure to work with and well qualified to be a choice material for exterior shutters.
At Shutter Revolution we use the highest grade (Export R List 401,) clear vertical grain cedar in the manufacturing of our shutters.
