Benchcrest House Exterior Modern Shutters
Our BenchCrest style offers unusual design variations for a one-of-a-kind, modern shutter. Some variations feature end-stop chamfers that mimic an older manner of wood working that allows for a softer edge and profile, while providing strength to the frames. It’s a distinctive yet uncomplicated look that will enhance a variety of architectural styles.
As with all of our Harmony line, the stiles and rails are made of Western Red Cedar, while the panels are made with EXTIRA® board, and all crafted with our mortise and tenon joinery for strength and durability. These modern shutters will add value to your building’s exterior.

The Western Red Cedar is an evergreen coniferous tree that grows to heights of 65-70 meters with a base of 3-4 meters.
Some of these trees can live over a thousand years. The size of this tree and the age to which it can live are testimony of its natural durability, which comes from the presence of thujaplicins (a naturally occurring fungicidal compound), and thujic acid that make it more resistant to insect attack.
Western Red Cedar is also known for its light weight, soft brown color and straight grain. Such characteristics make this wood a pleasure to work with and well qualified to be a choice material for exterior shutters.
At Shutter Revolution we use the highest grade (Export R List 401,) clear vertical grain cedar in the manufacturing of our shutters.
