Learn More About The Importance Of Wooden Shutters For Your Home

Why Were Wooden Shutters Used?

Since their advent, wooden shutters have become an integral part of a home’s charm. Their purpose in the day was to block the penetrating rays of the summer heat, guard against the chill wind of winter, and reduce ambient light.

The wooden shutters of today have become more decorative and less functional, serving as a type of architectural adornment for windows and doors that provides an aesthetic balance. Without them, a house by most accounts appears naked, bland or simply lackluster. As the functional use of shutters declined, so did the attention to detail and proportion.

Today they are often made of vinyl in standard sizes and are too narrow in relation to the window. Proportions are skewed, the material is inauthentic, and a once aspiring architectural detail is relegated to disharmony.

CUSTOMIZED WITH A CLICK

Our custom software makes your wooden shutters the size you specify while maintaining the size of core components. So we are able to easily adjust louver and panel spacing without the need to trim the bottom rails.

ADVANCED MACHINING

Using the latest CNC Technology (computer numeric code) Shutter Revolution can machine your wooden shutters with precise tolerances that are essential to a quality product.

STICKING PROFILES

We offer many different sticking profiles that are integrated into the stiles and rails of the wooden shutters. There are no add-on pieces that can come loose or fall out over time.

JOINERY TECHNIQUE

Our wooden shutters are constructed using time honored mortise and tenon joinery that is glued, then secured with your choice of our specially engineered stainless steel connector bolt (recommended) or hardwood pegs.
